Overview & Eligibility
A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is a secure electronic key that certifies the identity of the holder for online transactions and filings in India. NRIs who are Indian citizens can obtain a DSC even while living abroad, provided they complete the prescribed KYC and attestation steps.
- Issued in Class 3 category for most government and financial uses.
- Validity: typically 1–3 years.
- Delivered as a USB token or a cloud-based e-token (if supported).
Why NRIs Need a DSC
- Filing Indian income tax returns on behalf of self or business.
- Filing annual returns or documents with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA/ROC).
- Signing contracts, e-tenders, or legal documents remotely.
- Executing power of attorney or property-related digital documents.

Pay fees online (international card supported) and receive the USB or cloud token at your overseas address.
